Next Race: 09/12/2023
Mapperton House & Gardens, Mapperton, Beaminster DT8 3NR
We just love running around Dorset, so we're really happy to have this incredible venue to play with. Just outside of Dorchester is Mapperton, the country estate owned by the Earl and Countess of Sandwich. We are excited and very proud to have been invited to run at Mapperton, one of Dorset’s finest estates, for a second time.
The Mapperton Muddle races are a 10K and half-marathon in and around the fine Mapperton Estate. The races are in December so expect mud, lovingly created by the herd of White Park Cattle and watered by the many natural springs in the area. Both races will be a bit hilly and a bit wet.
The medal design represents the White Park Cattle on site and the massive stag we saw on our first visit! The gardens of the house will be opened especially to runners and their spectators. There will be refreshments served pre- and post-race by the team in the Coach House. It's time to break out the winter running gear and trail shoes for a unique set of races at this great venue.
When you enter our races you will be able to opt out of receiving your finisher’s goodies, which we usually hand out at the end of the race. Instead, the cost of your goody bag will be donated to the Wilder Dorset Appeal, and you can read more about that project here. If you don’t opt out, you will still get your goody bag, and you can optionally choose to make a personal contribution if you wish here. Every runner still gets a medal.
